Judith Yoder | Mental Health Therapist, Arlington, Falls Church, VAI am a psychotherapist in Vienna, Virginia. My practice location serves Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. I am a board-certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist and I see adults for individual and group psychotherapy.

Treatment Approach

My treatment approach blends traditional talk therapy with cognitive behavior therapy and dialectic behavior therapy. I incorporate clinical hypnosis, mindfulness practice and memory reprocessing into my work.

Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is used in the treatment of many disorders including eating issues, self injury, addictive behaviors, and mood problems. I am an experienced DBT therapist and DBT skills trainer.  In my private practice, I provide DBT informed therapy. I have a special interest in working with people who experience emotional intensity and impulsive behaviors.

Eye Movement Rapid Desensitization (EMDR)

EMDR is a reprocessing therapy that assists people in working through past experiences of distress and anxiety. This treatment is used to strengthen inner resources as well as to process painful experiences and memories.

Clinical Hypnosis

Clinical hypnosis is a method that helps people enter a relaxed state of focused awareness. It can be used to manage stress, increase relaxation, and support habit change.

How Therapy Works

The foundation of effective therapy is a trusting and collaborative relationship. I will work with you to develop a plan that is tailored to your goals and needs. My treatment style is active and supportive. Therapy provides a safe space to rebound from life’s obstacles and to build inner resources and skills.
